MD Steele’s reconstruction of Winnipeg’s iconic Portage & Main was more than just a construction job, it was a pivotal civic project. As the city watched one of its busiest intersections undergo a major transformation, Journeyman Marketing was brought in to document every key milestone. Through a series of cinematic, informative updates, we kept the public informed and engaged, resulting in nearly 100,000 views across platforms and a deeper appreciation for the work being done.

Rebuilding a landmark like Portage & Main isn’t just about concrete and rebar, it’s about public perception. With major road closures and traffic impacts, MD Steele needed a way to transparently show progress and demonstrate the complexity, safety, and scale of their work. The city was watching, and the communication had to be spot-on.
We created a series of short-form, documentary-style videos that broke down the technical work into digestible, visually captivating content. From drone footage and on-site captures to interview segments with project leads, every video was designed to inform and build trust with the public. Posted across LinkedIn and Instagram, the videos not only reached residents city-wide but also helped solidify MD Steele’s brand as one of Manitoba’s most capable and trusted civil contractors.
